Building winning GPP lineups, by definition, is tough. There are, however, some key things to look for when filling out your roster. First and foremost is ceiling, we want the players with potential to score the most points. Next is leverage; we want the players that fall through the cracks. Finally, we have to build a lineup that tells a winning story through game script and stacking.

A final note before diving into the picks. There are only 11 games on the main slate this week. When there are fewer options, it can be even more important to consider the Cash Picks article put out by Julia Papworth. For instance, I didn’t write up anybody from the Lions-Steelers matchup below, even though it has the highest implied point total on the slate. Many of those players are covered in the Cash Picks, and you can use your DFS reasoning if you want to stack around them, which is perfectly viable.

With that said, let’s dive into my favorite GPP plays for Week 16.

Quarterbacks

Josh Allen @ CLE – $9,000

I apologize for writing up Josh Allen again, but I want to remind you that the QB1 should always be in GPP consideration. He remains the most expensive QB on the slate, though his salary has dropped $300 from last week. The game only has a 41.5-point over/under, but the Bills still have the second-highest team implied total on the slate, thanks to being favored by 10.5 points. Allen’s ceiling is unmatched, has the 4th most passing TDs and the 4th most rushing TDs in the league. He can take down a slate on any given week, and the optimizer currently projects him to be rostered in only around 5% of lineups.
